Hello
Everyone,
I will try to
make this as brief as possible as I
don’t have much time.
I had elected
to retire from my day job last
December and in fact still carry
around in my purse my letter of
resignation. The CIO of the
corporation I work for asked me if I
would stay to work on the move of
the datacenter as I am the only one
who knows the system the hospitals
use. I had to promise him since he
has the upmost respect for me.
I did not
realize the amount of time I was
going to have to invest to prepare
for the move. I have worked the
last 3 weeks straight for an avg. of
14 hrs a day. I was just getting
into my cd production and have two
designers who are providing content
for me when all this came along.
The scheduled moves for each of 6
hospitals is aggressive and I have
to stick with it.
Once this has
been completed, the middle of June
is the end date, I will be back on
schedule with KE.
I am also
trying to deal with the death of my
brother since February and that has
set me back as well.
I am not
going to give up on the site but I
am committed and things will be
working at a slow pace for the time
being. I have a couple of patterns
I need to get up but am trying to
find the time.
I am not
looking for sympathy but for a
little understanding and for those
who believe in me, they will not be
disappointed.
Thanx for
listening

My email is
back up and functioning. Last
Tuesday my web hosting company had
an issue with the email server and
returned any mail going to .knittersedge.com.
I was not notified from the hosting
company there was a problem. I
learned of this initially from Pam
who mentioned she saw many posts
from the keknitlist yahoo group.
After going online to the group and
seeing the messages from there, I
could see this was a problem.
I phoned the hosting company support
team and read them the riot act.
They claimed there was a message
posted however accessing their site
2 days in a row, I never saw a
message. Not to worry, the
email is back. In the future
if you should ever experience a
problem, please send to
lindabushby@comcast.net to
inform me of the problem.
Again thank you for your support

Yes, I have
done it. I have gotten my very
first Gold Show Video up on the web
site. I am quite satisfied
with the results and have already
gotten very positive response from
members. Thank you very much
as I have enjoyed putting together
the demo and will be doing many more
in the future.

I think most
of you have read about my ill
brother. I am going to be
leaving for California Thursday and
will be returning the following
week. I will have access to
email and will be able to answer any
questions you may have.
Victoria is starting another
wonderful KAL on the KEKnitlist at
the yahoo groups which is the making
of Gladys Goodey's afghan.
This Tuck stitch afghan is beautiful
and we have the honored pleasure of
having Gladys help with any
questions, if we should need it.

The holidays
have past and I hope all had a great
time with family and friends.
I know I did however I was blessed
with the stomach flu on Christmas
Eve and it did not go away until the
following Friday. We all got
through and it will be memorable.
My daughter did not want me to feel
bad so she told everyone to come
over in their PJ's knowing I would
be in mine so we had a Christmas
Pajama party. It was fun.
What have I
been doing? Well at the
moment, I have a terminally ill
brother in the VA hospital in Long
Beach California and though I live
in Illinois, I have been spending
many hours on the phone doing what I
can for him. This will be my
priority for the next couple of
weeks. This may call for an
emergency visit to Long Beach which
I should know in a few days. I
ask for your patience during this
time.
I have also
had some problems with my outgoing
email for Knitters Edge which
prohibits me from sending outgoing.
This is vital for newsletters and
renewal notices. They are
making changes to provide us with
better service and I am scheduled
for the change to take place on the
22nd of Jan. so we shall see what
happens at that time. I can
receive incoming but cannot send
outgoing. I have been using my
comcast.net email to try and get
important info to some who require
it.
I have put up
a few things on the Diamond and Gold
sites but have not been able to send
the newsletter. When I
have the time to add content, I may
not have the extra time to email a
newsletter for that one piece of
content so, I will write and
send one newsletter (bi-monthly)
instead of sending a newsletter each
time I add to the site. This will be
temporary until a better plan has
been created. If you visit the
site, you will see the main gold or
diamond page with the new items
being shown and the dates added.
Please feel
free to contact me at
linda@knittersedge.com with
questions or requests.
Again thank
you for your support

As we get ready to begin a new year,
let's think about what each of us
can do for the knitting industry and
how can we make a difference.
How can I make a difference? I think
I am going to try to convert 10
people to become hand/machines
knitters. I am going to make
Knitters Edge the absolute best
knitting resource, providing
knitters of all levels with, some
great tools. I am going to
listen more to what the members are
needing and try to fulfill that
need. That is just a start.
Have you started?
This month I sent an email to all
the inactive members of Knitters
Edge back to the beginning of time
allowing them an opportunity to
re-activate their membership at the
renewal rate of 50.00 for Gold and
15.00 for Diamond. I have
recieved an overwhelming response to
this offer. I thank each and
every one who found their way back
home. I did get many returned
e-mails back as the addresses are no
longer or have been changed.
If you should happen to find your
way to this page, and would like to
take advantage of this opportunity,
please email Linda@KnittersEdge.com
and we will get you back online.
Some of you may be wondering, what
will be new in 2008 for Knitters
Edge.
First, I will be freeing up my time
to devote resources to the site.
I am going to create new programs
such as a referal program to allow
it's members the oportunity for free
months to the site.
I will be working on the creation of
the Crochet site which will be free
to members holding membership to
other sites. A slight fee will
be charged for those only wanting
the crochet site and no other.
I am also going to open a patterns
section for members to provide other
members with their own
creations. These patterns will not
be altered and will most likely not
have the KE format.
I have in a testing phase for the
Gold Show Video to continue on and
also to be created in different
formats provideing options for
viewers up to the High Dev format.
The site format will be the same.
These are just some of the new
things to look forward to. I
look forward to creating in 2008 and
now it is on to getting a pattern
ready for the site.
thank you so much for your support
and have a great holiday.

It has been brought to my attention,
a few members are having problems
viewing some of the patterns on the
Gold site. I believe we have
narrowed this down to a browser
problem. The FireFox, and
Safari seem to have problems in
formatting tables in the code.
I have read my web reports and this
constitutes approximately 10% of the
users visiting the site. I
have e-mailed Mozilla asking for a
code fix to allow the tables to be
properly formatted. I am not
sure how long this will take to fix.
In the meantime, I am going to say,
please use Microsoft Internet
Explorer 5.0 or above, or the
Netscape browser. If using
FireFox, you can change the page
style from the view button in the
task bar, to no style. It is
still not pretty but is readable.
This will remove the table all
together. If you change the
view back, the mess will reoccur.
Thank you for your patience

I am so pleased to
announce lessons for Knitware are
now here at Knitters Edge. I
have surveyed the group and found
many loved this enhancement.
Ada Lai, owner of the software from
Great Knit Designs, and
Technical support Heather Thompson
have agreed this would benefit many
of the Knitters Edge members.
This tool is available for both the
Diamond and the Gold site members.
The first two lessons have already
been put up on the site. You
can find the link on the
Diamond/Gold sites main page under
the Quick Link section. You
can look ahead to many more lessons
by Heather. Heather is
also a member of the KEKnitlist so
you may see chatter in the classroom
as well. Should you have any
questions please don't hesitate to
contact Heather or myself.
With the addition of Knitware, you
will now have the opportunity to
choose a tool which will suit you
best, DAK tool, or Knitware tool.
Both are available for you to learn.
New DAK content will be added to the
site as well. I hope you will
cherish this new addition and see
the future of Knitters Edge as
positive and upward.
You
will also notice many cosmetic
changes taking place on the site for
both the Gold and the Diamond sites.
Again I hope these are a welcome
change.
Another change to be taking place in
the very near future will be putting
the Silver site to sleep. I
cannot justify the cost difference
between the Gold and the Silver.
Gold offers far too much content,
Silver is less than 7% of the total
membership, it is double effort for
me to keep up this site. The
Silver members have been sent a
newsletter explaining this and have
been offered an enrollment to Gold
at a reduced subscription for the
first year.
Also, Victoria is leading the second
KAL on KeKnitlist. We are
working on summer tops. We are
in the swatching stage so if you
have not visited us, please do so.
You will have fun.
I
thank you from the bottom of my
heart for all you do

Hello to All,
I just know you have not been
wondering what I am doing.
First I would like to say I am
putting some things into motion and
once I get them finalized I will be
making an announcement. I do
feel you will like the good news I
will be sharing which should be
within the next week or so.
Next, I want to give you a schedule,
which I will follow, to see you get
some content on the site. I am
going to have content on the site on
the 1st and the 15th of the month.
The Gold Show video will be up on
the 15th starting in July. The
June Gold Show will be up next week.
Some weeks you may have more content
than other. Not only will the
Gold site be updated, but the
Diamond site as well. Beside
the videos, you will be seeing new
techniques, patterns, tips n tricks,
DAK, lessons and stitches. Now
this does not mean you will see all
this every month. We all know
there are not enough hours in the
day for that.
The next news letter is just about
ready for delivery. I will be
getting that together tonight and
mailed out.
For the Silver subscribers, please
read the information in your site
regarding membership.
Please stayed tuned for more
information as I get it ready.
I think you will like some of the
"little" changes which are about to
take place.
I can't thank each and every one of
you for all your support and
wonderful kind words I hear
everyday.
